I have not been to some of the largest cities in the world, but I have been to some pretty busy airports! One of the things I enjoy about  travelling is to witness all of the various people groups and how different we all dress depending upon our cultural background. I am sure that when we reach Heaven some day we will experience this on a scale beyond imagination because Heaven is truly “The International City”.
 
Now we understand that the kings of the earth will not be there because of their power and authority but because they surrendered to the authority of Christ and put their trust in the power  of His blood! It is the saved out of the nations who walk in the light of that glory. They walk the glory road lighted by the glory of Christ.
 
Heaven will be the most spiritually cosmopolitan city you have ever seen. The “new song” praises Jesus “…because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God…” (Rev. 5:9, 10).
 
Then comes another great scene. “After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb” (Rev. 7:9, 10). I believe the whiteness of our robes speaks of the purity we have because we have been given the righteousness of Christ. But I also believe that there will be rich, vibrant color in that city, and not just the streets and gates and walls with their gold and precious jewels. I imagine beautiful garments that demonstrate the creativity that our God has placed in the mind of His creation, all on display as we enter into His court with praise!

Heaven – don’t miss it for the world.
